Product Introduction：
PT‑141 is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha‑MSH and a non‑selective melanocortin receptor agonist, especially targeting MC₃R and MC₄R. It was originally developed based on melanotan II and is known to stimulate sexual arousal via central pathways. Approved in 2019 under the brand name Vyleesi for treating hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women, PT‑141 works by activating brain receptors rather than acting on blood vessels.

Function：
PT‑141 activates melanocortin receptors in the central nervous system to increase sexual desire and arousal. In both male and female subjects it can initiate physiological responses like penile erections or increased libido, independently of peripheral vascular action. It is used clinically (in women) to treat HSDD and studied off‑label in men for erectile dysfunction and low libido when PDE5 inhibitors are ineffective. Effects begin within about 45 minutes after subcutaneous injection; common side effects include nausea, flushing, headache, and transient blood pressure elevation. Hyperpigmentation with repeated use has been observed.
