Uses: Hydroxysafflor yellow A, known as Safflomin A, is widely studied for its anti‑inflammatory, antioxidant and antitumor activities. It is used in research on cardiovascular protection, pulmonary inflammatory injury, liver fibrosis and cancer models. Its biological actions include inhibition of NF‑κB signaling, suppression of pro‑inflammatory cytokines such as TNF‑α, IL‑1β and IL‑6, antioxidant radical scavenging, neuroprotection and anti‑fibrosis effects.
Product Introduction:Hydroxysafflor Yellow A (HSYA) is the principal active pigment extracted from Carthamus tinctorius L. (safflower), a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. It is a C‑glycosyl quinochalcone that appears as a vivid yellow amorphous powder with strong water solubility and characteristic absorption at ~403 nm. HSYA demonstrates a broad spectrum of bioactivities, notably inhibiting inflammation, oxidative stress and tumor cell proliferation. Its cardiovascular protective potential stems from modulation of TLR4, NF‑κB, MAPK and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways, while its antioxidant properties support liver and neuroprotection. HSYA’s low oral bioavailability (around 1.2 %) and sensitivity to light, heat and alkaline conditions are known limitations, and proper storage in dark, cool environments is recommended.
